Bird Sourcing Terms & Policy
At The Parrot House, we are committed to helping customers find the right bird that matches their needs, lifestyle, and preferences. To begin the sourcing process, we ask all customers to review and agree to the following terms and policy.
1. Sourcing Deposit
- A £100 non-refundable deposit is required to start the bird sourcing process.
- This deposit covers our time, research, communication, and efforts in locating suitable birds that match your requirements.
2. What the Deposit Covers
The deposit contributes towards:
- Contacting trusted breeders, owners, and rescues
- Verifying bird health and welfare information
- Providing updates, photos, and details of potential matches
- Our admin time and ongoing support throughout the process
3. Changing Circumstances
- If your circumstances change, or you decide not to proceed after we have begun the sourcing process, the deposit will be retained to cover the time and work already invested.
- You may pause the search once for up to 14 days without losing your deposit. After this period, a new deposit will be required to restart the search.
4. Sourcing Timeframe
- Sourcing times vary based on species availability, age requirements, and your preferences.
- While we aim to find a suitable match as quickly as possible, we cannot guarantee exact timeframes due to the nature of working with live animals.
5. Final Purchase
- Once a suitable bird is found, we will provide full details including age, temperament, history, price, and photos (where available).
- The final purchase agreement is strictly between the customer and the seller/breeder.
- [Your Business Name] does not own or sell the birds sourced and acts only as a facilitator.
6. Customer Responsibilities
Customers must:
- Provide accurate information about the type of bird they are seeking
- Ensure they are prepared for ownership, including space, time, and financial responsibility
- Respond to communications in a timely manner to avoid delays
7. Welfare Commitment
We only work with trusted, ethical breeders and sellers who prioritise bird welfare. We will not source birds from unknown or unverified backgrounds.
